| I started making tree trunk homes about three years ago when I needed a centerpiece for my show table. I constructed that first tree trunk as a bachelor pad for a single four inch bear. I made a fireplace and furnished the two rooms with home made rustic furniture, and , as the saying goes, that was that - I was hooked on the world of miniatures. |
| The homes are designed are designed for woodland folk of all kinds- fairies, gnomes, rabbits, mice, bears, etc. Some trunks are simple dwellings, roots twisted with age, bark covered with moss and vines, woodpecker holes, broken limbs, all designed to show an aged tree bearing the scares of a long life. A home like this makes a perfect dwelling for fairies, gnomes or other simple woodland inhabitants. |
| For those with more sophisticated tastes, windows (even "stained glass"), doors, fireplaces and furniture can be added. The houses can be electrified so that candles "burn" and fireplace coals glow. All the comforts of home without the restrictions of a standard dollhouse inhabited by humans. |
